To better exploit the potential of business angels across Europe and beyond, BAE is involved in numerous research- and capacity building programmes.

CURRENT PROJECTS

ESIL 2

ESIL 2 has the aim to boost the innovation and investment ecosystems in the European Union by supporting angel investing communities, in particular from countries where angel investing remains weak. The vision of the initiative is to empower the changing face of European angel investment.

EmpoWomen

EmpoWomen is a 2-year program (2024-2025) funded by the European Union through its Horizon Europe Research and Innovation program, aiming to tackle the underrepresentation of women in the deep-tech sector, particularly in emerging European countries and widening countries*.

WomenInvestEU

WomenINvestEU is creating a strong, inclusive community of European gender-conscious investors to address the lack of female representation in the investment space. The project will provide networking and knowledge sharing opportunities to promote gender-conscious investing across Europe and empower women to enter the sector.

WEGate

WEGate is the premier online platform for women entrepreneurs and WE supporting stakeholders to learn, grown and network. BAE proudly supports this initiative by being responsible for the "access to finance stream". The project is financed and supported by the European Commission.

SMART

Through research, surveys and interviews with Angels and entrepreneurs, the study “Understanding the Nature and Impact of the business angels in Funding Research and Innovation” provides unprecedented and detailed insights on the European Business Angel market.

ESIL

The Early Stage Investing Launchpad – ESIL – is a Pan-European community aiming to improve angel investment market, stimulate cross border investment opportunities, find new deals, connect the most relevant networks and build a tailored training programme for local ecosystems.

Business Angels Maroc

Avec l'appui de GIZ, Business Angels Europe et PwC ont structuré l'écosystème marocain des business angels, par misent en place des seances de training avec des experts de BAE et amenent les business angels marocain vers meilleur pratiques d'Europe.

WA4E

WA4E set out to increase the number of Women Business Angels by 10% and to generate €2.5 million in fresh investment in start-ups across Europe. WA4E has deployed trainings and mentoring actions to reach out to over 3000 women to become women business angels. Read our seminal report below.
